Happy New Year everyone! Best wishes for 2021, may it be much less eventful than last year.
Over the break, I travelled with some friends through the centre of Te Waipounamu – the South Island of New Zealand. Our first stop was at Lake Wakatipu, a glacial melt lake formed at the foot of our tallest mountain – Aoraki/Mount Cook. While there, we visited the New Zealand Alpine Lavender field.
Here is an assortment of photos from both my Olympus digital camera, and my Pentax film camera. The film photos will have much more noticeable grain and overall a flatter, warmer colour profile. I love how the Kodak Portra 800 film renders the texture of water. It’s quite fascinating how differently the digital vs analogue mediums reflect a similar scene.
Keep an eye out for the next batch of photos from this trip! I’m hoping to visit more of the North Island (Te Ika a Maui) this year, so there should be a fair bit more variety to look forward to.
