To celebrate the end of the academic year, a group of friends and I set out to enjoy the night sky south of Banks Peninsula. We first headed up Dyers Pass to enjoy the scenery, picking out beauty spots along the summit road as the sun set over the Alps. We then drove down to Birdlings Flat, where we spent the rest of the evening taking night-sky photos and observing the moon through a friend’s telescope.
Unfortunately, my own night photos did not turn out very well, however practice makes perfect! We will definitely do our best to head out for another round in the coming weeks.
