Cirque de Gavarnie

My mother and I spent a few days in the French Pyrennées. This post covers our first major visit: the Cirque de Gavarnie. This amphitheatre-shaped valley, the largest of the “Cirques” in the Pyrennées National Park is famous for its incredible views and relatively easy access. A relatively easy (and busy) track took us to the foot of the Cirque and it’s huge, 400 metre waterfall, where we enjoyed lunch and I slowly fried under the high-altitude, summer sun. This is a must-see for any outdoor enthusiasts in in the French South-West.
